I want to know more!

  • At nightfall, hidden in a hunting blind (protected from mosquitos), take part in a safe instructive and fun activity: meet the BEAR in all its glory. Meet Eric, the man who as spent the most time with free-roaming bear in all of the Eastern Canada! He will take you in the shelter especially designed to observe big hairy animals in their natural habitat. In addition to Eric, his daughter Noemie also acts as a guide. You can say she is just as passionate about wildlife and bears as her father, having been around these mammals from a very young age.

  • Can you imagine seeing it from your own eyes: mum, dad and sometimes baby bears coming to nibble a few meters from you in total freedom. The chances of seeing bears during this outing are 95%! This activity also gives access to lots of interesting information on the black bear’s habitat, reproduction and lifestyle in Quebec. As a bonus, you will FINALLY know how to react if you encounter a bear during your next hike in the forest. Play dead or run away?

  • Note: if you don’t see any bears, the activity is free of charges. As the experience requires silence, patience and stillness, it’s not suitable for young children (5 years old and under).

  • Psst. Want to explore the beauty of the National Park and its landscapes for longer? Stay in one of the Aux Berges du Saint-Maurice accommodations. Whether in a room, a condo or a chalet, you will stay close to the Mauricie National Park.
