Whether you want to learn about fishing, enjoy our beautiful nature or catch the big fish you’ve been waiting for, it’s a good idea to attend the Fête de la pêche! The event takes place every year in every part of Quebec and allows you to fish without a permit for three days.
In Shawi, the festival is run by Vision St-Maurice, an organization that aims, among other things, to promote our beautiful river and its affluents.
Every year, the event takes place on the first weekend of june, at the Place des Canotiers in downtown Shawinigan. Come tickle the fish and see what takes the bait! Admire the scenery and enjoy the moment! Or carpe diem, as they say… (Pun intended!😉 )
PSST ! Children between the ages of 6 and 17 can join the event free of charge and will leave with a fishing license valid until their 17th birthday.
