In Shawinigan, you’ll find pleasure for your calves and diverse landscapes to fuel your memories.

Shawinigan offers a variety of places to run.  Whether it’s in an urban environment, in the middle of nature, on a trail or using the cycling network, you’ll certainly find the right fit for you. You’ll also find routes for all levels, ranging from easy flat routes, to difficult sustained climbs.

Favorite of Éric and Isabelle, running enthusiasts:

The Promenade du Saint-Maurice is the ideal place to run with its wide sidewalk and cycling trail. Although this promenade is very close to the downtown area, the atmosphere remains calm, and the presence of the Saint-Maurice River refreshes our efforts.

Suggestions based on your interests:

For the adventurous, the Parc de la Rivière-Shawinigan and La Mauricie National Park are ideal. Indeed, these parks offer itineraries on paths or cycling trails in the heart of nature which can sometimes surprise because of their sustained climbs.

For the morning runner, go to the Avenue du Capitaine-Veilleux. Your race will be enhanced by the magnificent sunrise over the Saint-Maurice River. In this district, you can also increase the level of difficulty by composing a circuit that will pass from one staircase to another, the hill of the Curé (just in front of the Église Notre-Dame-de-la-Présentation) and the ascent of the Avenue du Capitaine-Veilleux.
